Over an hour trying to obtain an internet connection in the apartment. Eventually it has happened by running a cable direct down a flight of stairs directly into the router of whatever it's called. Hurrah. Maybe i need to think about taking my own cables for LAN connections with me on trips when the wi-fi doesn't work. Fortunately there is one here.
It's only when from your home environment that you realise what you forgot to pack.
1) Pen drive for portable applications like basic video editing, ftp etc
2) Cable to connect mp3 player / ipod into the hi-fi
3) LAN cable
4) Dial-up modem (mmm, desperate).
